Adinkra Symbol of the month for June 2019 - Ananse Ntontan

Summer is here!

We welcome the month of June as a half year marker. The warmer temps, more skin on show, bigger smiles and longer days help us feel like we have something to celebrate, daily.

It is important, that as we have reached six months into the year, we keep our goals in play so the remaining six months of 2019 see our goals fully materialise. For that reason, we have chosen 'Ananse Ntontan' ('Spider's Web') as the Adinkra Symbol of the month.

Ananse Ntontan is a symbol of wisdom, creativity and a reflection of the complexities of life. Ananse is the messenger of the Supreme Being, 'Nyame' (who is also his father), he is the 'owner of all of the Supreme Being's stories'. Ananse is often portrayed as a rogue, trickster and mischief maker, however his purpose of being a great teacher of how to turn the tables on oppressors and adversity is often missed or overshadowed by those notions. It's the latter we want to focus on.

This Adinkra symbol is relevant for the month of June as we don't want you to lose sight of your goals due to over indulging in the 'celebration' of the arrival of summer. We want you to use your skills of discernment, wisdom and ingenuity to thrive in the remaining months of 2019.

Be wise my friends. Be satisfied that the whole of 2019 will be what want because you have worked consistently towards manifesting your goals.
